Originally from Charlotte, NC, Damion graduated from West Charlotte High School in 2000 where he enjoyed a stellar basketball career highlighted by winning the North Carolina state title in 1999. Damion's coach for that team was his father, Gosnell White, one of North Carolina’s all-time greatest high school basketball coaches.
Damion's West Charlotte team ended that year ranked #8 in the USA Today top 25 poll.
Upon graduating from West Charlotte, Damion went on to a year of post graduate prep school at Phillip’s Academy in Andover, MA where he played varsity football, basketball, and ran track.
