Program Coordinator Spotlight: Head Softball Coach – Jody Fillpot

Where did you go to college?
I went to Angelo State University to play volleyball before transferring to St. Edward’s University to play
volleyball and softball.

What was a memorable college experience for you?
My most memorable college experience was probably every single one of our out of town softball
games/tournaments. I had such fun teammates. We always had a blast, whatever we were doing.

Where did you coach/work before St. Andrew's?
I have coached at Elgin High School, Del Valle Middle School, Lockhart High School, Colleyville Heritage High
School, and St. Edward’s University

What do you enjoy most about working at St. Andrew's?
I love the entire community.

What is your favorite movie?
I have 2 favorite movies: Hidden Figures & Remember the Titans

What is your go to game day snack?
Oranges and Sunflower Seeds

What is a something positive that you have experienced or been able to do during the pandemic?
Something positive that I have been able to experience is being a pod leader for the 3rd grade. It has
been wonderful getting to know the 3rd graders on a different level than just teaching them PE.

What is your favorite moment as a member of the SAS Athletic Staff?
Being around my team and coaching staff

If you weren't working in athletics, what would you be doing?
Rescuing dogs and allowing abused children to come play with the dogs for therapy

What do you enjoy most about SPC play?
Getting to play out of town games and taking trips with the players so they can hopefully make
wonderful memories like I did when I was their age.

If you could coach any sport (that you do not already coach) what would it be?
Crew

How many years have you been a coach/staff member at SAS?
This is my 5th year at St. Andrew’s

Not really
