Highlander Recognized by Rotary Club of Austin for Invention

The Rotary Club of Austin recently awarded Brody M. and his team first place for their invention at the annual small business intensive, Camp Enterprise.
Six members of the Class of ‘26 were selected following fall interviews to participate in the annual Camp Enterprise, hosted by the Rotary Club of Austin. Camp Enterprise aims to inspire the next generation of business leaders and entrepreneurs. The three-day intensive also helps students practice team-building skills, collaborative problem solving, and to meet like-minded students across Central Texas.

Sophia K., Brody M., Andrew S., Catherine C., Hannah S., and Beau B. took part in the intensive three-day experience this February, which allows area high school juniors to experience a free enterprise system, explore the world of business and entrepreneurship and work on a team to conceive and pitch a viable business idea.

At this year's Camp Enterprise, Highlander Brody M. won First Place with his team for their invention, the “Fe-Mini,” a cordless, portable iron that can be used to iron clothes while wearing them. The name was inspired by iron’s symbol, “Fe”, on the Periodic Table.

What's more, Brody and his teammates from six other Central Texas high schools were invited to present their winning business to the greater Austin Rotary Club membership in a celebratory lunch on Tuesday. Congratulations Brody!
