Watch Sing Sing with the Actualizing Beloved Community Student Council this April!
The Upper School Student Council is hosting a free screening of Academy-Award nominated film, Sing Sing, on April 15 at the DFAC.

See for yourself what the buzz is about this April! St. Andrew’s Upper School Student Council, Actualizing Beloved Community (ABC), is hosting a free screening of award-winning film, Sing Sing, open to the Austin-area community this April.
Join SAS students, faculty, staff and families at the Dell Fine Arts Center on St. Andrew’s Southwest Parkway Campus on Tuesday, April 15 at 6pm for a free screening of the film. After the showing, Director Greg Kwedar, will join for a virtual Q&A and answer audience questions.
The film is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison and centers on a group of incarcerated men who stage theatre performances. The film, Sing Sing, features both professional actors alongside formerly incarcerated men who play themselves.
“It made me realize the connection and sense of belonging theater can bring to people,” said student Giulia F. ‘25.
Sebastian M. ‘26 agreed, adding that Sing Sing is “a real story showing the power of community.”
