Eighth Grade's Next Chapter

On May 22, the Class of 2030 celebrated the end of their middle school careers at their graduation ceremony.
Assistant Head of Middle School Dr. Preston Achilike addressed the graduates, drawing on the year’s chapel theme of Greeting Every Saint, the idea of seeing the goodness in every person.

He reminded the class that sainthood has never been about perfection. Most saints, he noted, were flawed, their histories far messier than we remember. What defined them wasn't a clean record but a choice to offer their gifts for something bigger than themselves.

"You too are saints, not because you are perfect, but because your gifts will result in the change we need to see in the world," he told the class. He named many students, along with the saints whose qualities they embodied – strength, scholarship, service, artistry, kindness.

Before the presentation of diplomas, Head of Middle School Tim Moore presented three awards given to the students who exemplify what it means to be a St. Andrew’s student. We are so proud of the class of 2030 – we can’t wait to see what you will accomplish in Upper School!
