Steven has been coaching with the St. Andrew’s Baseball program since 2005 and has been the Head Coach of the program since 2010. He coached the Crusaders to a Division 2 SPC championship in 2011 and helped coach the Crusaders to three Division 1 tournament berths during his time as an assistant coach. Steven also serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the Upper School and is a 9th grade advisor.
Steven, a graduate of St. Andrew’s school (grades 1-12), was a three sport athlete in high school, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball during his high school career. He went on to St. Edward’s University and received a BA in Criminal Justice. Steven began his coaching career in 2003 as a baseball coach/instructor with the Austin Baseball Club (ABC). He coached at with the Austin Baseball Club for 12 years.
Steven is a member of the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association.
When he is away from the baseball field, Steven likes to spend time with his wife and family, attend live sporting events, and enjoy Austin’s live music scene.
Coach Bart Bratcher feels very privileged to have played for Bobby Moegle at Monterey High School and for Dutch Schroeder at Baylor University. Coach Bratcher's career includes 4 years at Brazosport High School, 5 years at Irving High School and 33 years at Westwood High School. His teams’ 25 playoff appearances includes 4 Final Four appearances. Bratcher served the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association in several capacities through the years. Bart was a co-founder and President of the Austin Area Baseball Coaches Association and Austin Area All Star Game. The JET Baseball non-profit organization has served the Zimbabwe Baseball Association and an Austin summer team called Jet. Bratcher has worked with teachers, coaches and players in Zimbabwe while on faith-based baseball trips to Africa. He was inducted into the Texas HS Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame. He and his wife, Debbie, are blessed with two sons, Lee and Stephen.
