Pat Carrillo Vaca, was born in Buenos Aires Argentina. She began playing hockey at age 8; always played as a forward, recruited by coach Sergio Cachito Vigil (Men’s Argentine national team and coach for Las Leonas and Los Leones), she played for Division A league clubs Los Cedros and Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Cachito was that one coach she was lucky to have in her life; he inspired her confidence, passion and drive for the game; he would regularly expose her to play in Intermediate and 1st Division games after her 5th Divison (U15) game. He also opened the way to her making the Argentine juniors national team, that kept challenging her to elevate her game, discipline and true dedication for hockey, as he, was well on his way to taking the reigns as coach for the national team Las Leonas, and would be known as the coach that led the way to those larger victories and to the place they hold today on the international stage.
Pat came to the US and played a tournament in California where she was offered a scholarship to play for Berkley University, declined it to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she completed her studies and where she now resides. Most recently, she began assisting with the offense coaching for the Lone Star field hockey club in Austin.
